DID YOU KNOW? In addition to the Springtown ISD bond proposal, voters will see 14 constitutional amendments on the November ballot for Texans to consider! Proposition 4 would increase the homestead exemption from $40,000 to $100,000. Proposition 9 would allow for a cost of living adjustment for individuals receiving benefits from the Teacher Retirement System of Texas. 🦔 MAKE A PLAN TO VOTE! 🦔 Early Voting begins Monday, Oct. 23 in the Springtown ISD bond election – do you have a plan to vote early? We will be hosting an Early Voting polling location at Springtown Elementary School in the auditorium this election, so stop by and cast your vote in this important election. Polls are open 8 am to 5 pm Monday, Oct. 23 to Friday, Oct. 27 in Parker and Wise counties. Early Voting polling locations are open Saturday, Oct. 28 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. in Parker County. 💵 FINANCIAL FRIDAY 💵 It’s important to understand what you’ll see on the ballot when you head into the voting booth. By law, school districts can only purchase items approved by voters with bond funds. For the November 2023 bond, that means SISD can only use funds for school facilities or to purchase land. The ballot will also include the required language, “This is a property tax increase.” This statement is required on all school bond elections.
