🦉🐾 To support their study of adaptations and habitats, Mrs. Hale brought an Animal Adaptation Investigation trunk to the library for students to explore! The trunk, provided by the Texas Wildlife Association, gave students a hands-on way to learn about how animals survive in their environments.

Our Reno kiddos were PUMPED to show their school spirit for HOCO week and cheer on the 🏈 Springtown Porcupines! 🧡🖤

🌟 This week at Reno Elementary, we had a LOTS positive office referrals! So many, in fact, that we have to make TWO posts!!!🌟 These special referrals are given to students who go above and beyond by being kind, helping others, and showing what it means to be a great citizen! 🧡👏

We are SO grateful to celebrate all the positive things our students are doing and the amazing character they continue to show every day! 🙌

🎬✨ The red carpet was rolled out for our Reno Celebrities today! 🌟🦔 Our students SHINED as they showed off their star power during HOCO dress-up week.

🧸🩺 What an AMAZING day in 1st grade! To wrap up our Human Body unit, our students got to experience a Teddy Bear Clinic hosted by the SHS Practicum of Health Science students!

Here’s how the clinic worked:
✨ Check-in station → students gave their name & their stuffie’s name, and the stuffie received an intake bracelet.
✨ Triage station → students explained what “ailment” their stuffie had.
✨ Vital signs → hearing, temperature, blood pressure, heart rate (HS students filled out a real form!).
✨ Hospital bed → examined the patient & looked at X-rays.
✨ Treatment advice → students learned how to care for their stuffie.
🧠 Students also made brain caps after their teddy bear was assessed!

🧡 Mrs. Cosentino & the SHS Practicum of Health Science students for making this hands-on learning possible.
🧡 Coach Terry Spray for donating the stuffed animals — what a special memento for our students!
🧡 Mrs. Curtin & Mrs. Garrison for bringing learning to life in such a fun way!

🍎🌱 It’s Johnny Appleseed Day at Reno Elementary! 🌱🍎

Our Pre-K and Kinder students spent the day celebrating all things apples! 🍏🍎🍏

✨ They made apple volcanos
✨ Bobbed for apples
✨ Counted and followed a recipe to make applesauce
✨ Taste-tested different apples & graphed their favorites
✨ Enjoyed a yummy snack because “If you give a kid an apple…” 😉

And of course, some of our students showed off their adorable apple outfits! 🍎👕

It was a fun-filled day of hands-on learning and smiles. 💫

🎉 It was a busy and exciting day at Reno Elementary! 🦔🧡

🚌 We kicked things off with Bus Safety Day — learning what to do during bus emergencies. A huge THANK YOU to our amazing bus drivers 🚍👏 for teaching our students and to our students for being such a fantastic audience!

🎭 Later, our students got to enjoy fairytale skits performed by the talented Springtown Middle & High School theatre students. 🌟 They did an incredible job, and our kids absolutely loved it!
