Fourth-grade students officially entered the โMazza Kingdomโ this week as they kicked off their Super Mazza Brothers STAAR transformation! ๐ฎโญ From tackling tricky fractions โ to mastering place value ๐ข, these scholars have been busy collecting โPower Starsโ and crushing their academic goals.

Mr. Moody goes above and beyond every single day for both our students and staff. ๐งก He builds strong relationships, supports everyone with a smile, and brings a positive energy that makes our school a better place. ๐
Our students absolutely love himโwhether heโs encouraging them, celebrating their successes, or just making them laugh along the way! ๐๐ He has a special way of making every student feel seen, valued, and excited to be at school.
For our staff, Mr. Moody is always thereโsupportive, dependable, and ready to jump in wherever needed. ๐ช๐ He doesnโt just assist in leading the schoolโฆ he makes everything FUN! ๐
๐งก This photo (of Mr. Moody on the motorcycle) was taken circa 2020 when COVID hit and we were all sent home. Mrs. Showers, Mr. Moody, and many of our staff hit the road and made a parade through neighborhoods just to see our students because we missed them so much during the school closure. ๐๐ Itโs stories like these that make Reno such a special place! ๐งก

โจ First Grade Fairy Tales Come to Life! โจ
Recently, our first grade students wrapped up their Fairy Tale Unit by bringing their favorite stories to life through creative dioramas! ๐ฐ๐ฒ๐ญ
As part of their Amplify Knowledge Unit 8 study, students explored key elements of fairy tales, with a special focus on characters and settings. From enchanted forests and towering castles to cozy, candy-filled cottages, each diorama beautifully showcases where the story takes place and who the story is about.
Throughout the unit, students learned how to identify and describe important story elements, deepening their understanding of how characters and settings shape a narrative. This hands-on project gave them the opportunity to apply their learning in a fun and meaningful way while also building skills in problem-solving, storytelling, and communication.

๐ดโโ ๏ธโ Pirate Day Learning Adventure in 2nd Grade! โ๐ดโโ ๏ธ
Our students set sail on an exciting day of learning filled with hands-on activities and high engagement!
Yesterday, our young learners explored the human body, discovering how body systems work together like a pirate crew. They also strengthened their reading skills by learning about scientific discoveries and practicing how to make observations using evidence.
Students dove into phonics and spelling patterns, explored fiction vs. nonfiction text features, and connected their learning to real-world concepts in social studies, including work, income, saving, and donating.
โจ It was a day full of collaboration, curiosity, and meaningful learningโproving that when students are engaged, learning becomes an adventure!
