🤩UIL STATE QUALIFIER!🤩
Let's give a huge round of applause to Katelyn Duncan, a talented sophomore at Springtown High School! Her Digital Animation "Gloom" just clinched FIRST PLACE in the UIL Film Semi-Finals! 🥇👏 This first-place win has qualified her for STATE!
Katelyn's inspiration for her Digital Animation came from her friends dealing with anxiety and depression. It's incredible to see how she was able to channel real-life experiences into art! And a big shoutout goes to Mrs. Stephanie Taylor for guiding her through learning Audacity and Premier Pro. Thank you for your mentorship! 🙌
Let's also take a moment to appreciate Katelyn's grandmother, who gave her a keyboard when she was just 10 years old. It's amazing to see how that gift has shaped her journey, allowing her to produce captivating music in her Digital Animation. 🎹
Join us in congratulating Katelyn on this amazing achievement! 👏👏👏
Let's cheer her on as she heads toward even greater success! #StateFinalsBound #PorcupineWay

Today's beautiful sunshine has helped local roads clear for safe travel to school tomorrow in Springtown ISD. We will be having school on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, on regular schedule. It will be cold throughout the day - and especially tomorrow morning at bus stops and during morning arrival - so bundle up and stay safe, Porcupines! We will have our campuses warmed up and ready for you!
Additionally, we kindly request all students and staff wear green tomorrow as a gesture of honor and solidarity with the Paradise ISD community. This is in remembrance of their school board member and two children who tragically lost their lives in a plane accident. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Paradise ISD community during this difficult time.
We look forward to welcoming everyone back to school! Stay safe and warm, Porcupines!

💵 FINANCIAL FRIDAY 💵
It’s important to understand what you’ll see on the ballot when you head into the voting booth.
By law, school districts can only purchase items approved by voters with bond funds. For the November 2023 bond, that means SISD can only use funds for school facilities or to purchase land.
The ballot will also include the required language, “This is a property tax increase.” This statement is required on all school bond elections.
For more information on the tax impact of the 2023 bond proposal, visit www.springtownisdbond2023.com/tax-information
